SO, what the heck is a bento box???

The basic idea of the Bento is very simple...

Here's the breakdown...

Bento is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento holds rice, fish, or meat, with pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container.

little birdie's bento boxes are a little different because we've geared them towards our American kids (without the pickled Veggies); however, if your child would like pickled Veggies, we'd be happy to oblige!

My number one goal, with food, is to provide healthy, balanced meals that my kids look forward
to eating.

The bento box philosophy is PERFECT for that!
It also allows the kids to have little portions of a lot of things — which I know many kids really, really like!
I admit the BEST part about making bento boxes is hearing the kidz say, "WHOA, WOW!!" after opening their lunches.
THAT alone is worth any extra time it might take to make these little works
of art!
